This week saw little activity for dividends received but quite a bit of activity in the buys and options trading. Overall the accounts were up this week. Let’s check out the details for this week’s activity.
Dividends
This week was a very light week for dividends. I received the following dividends in my Roth IRA this week:
- Main Street Capital (MAIN) $0.16 (reinvested)
- Nationwide Risk Managed Income ETF (NUSI) $0.36 (pending reinvestment)
The total dividends received this week was $0.52. Like I said, it was a light week for dividends. I expect next week to be a good week for dividends.
Buys/Sells
My monthly contribution of $60 was made to the Roth IRA this week. The following were the buys in the Roth IRA:
- Nationwide Risk Managed Income ETF (NUSI) bought 1 share.
- J.P. Morgan Equity Premium Income ETF (JEPI) bought 0.5 share.
The following were the buys in the Traditional IRA:
- Fidelity MSCI Information Technology ETF (FTEC) bought 1.5 shares.

The purchases in the M1 Finance account occurred automatically. Once the cash balance gets above the limit I set, which is currently $25, M1 automatically buys based on my previously set percentage weighting for each position.
I did not sell any positions this week.
Options Trading
The following is the options trading activity for the week:
- Organigram Holdings (OGI) sold a covered call at a strike price of $5.00 expiring on June 18, 2021 for a premium of $9.46 after fees.
- Organigram Holdings (OGI) sold a covered call at a strike price of $4.00 expiring on May 21, 2021 for a premium of $4.71 after fees.
- Mustang Bio Inc. (MBIO) sold a covered call at a strike price of $2.50 expiring on May 21, 2021 for a premium of $69.31 after fees.
- Schwab U.S. Dividend ETF (SCHD) bought a closing transaction on a covered call expiring July 16, 2021 at a strike price of $73.00 for a premium of -$353.68 including fees.
- Schwab U.S. Dividend ETF (SCHD) bought a covered call at a strike price of $74 expiring on October 15, 2021 for a premium of $352.31 after fees.
- Mustang Bio Inc. (MBIO) sold a covered call at a strike price of $5.00 expiring on May 21, 2021 for a premium of $4.71 after fees.
- Invesco Mortgage (IVR) sold a covered call at a strike price of $7.00 expiring on January 20, 2023 for a premium of $29.31 after fees.
- Invesco Mortgage (IVR) sold a covered call at a strike price of $7.00 expiring on January 21, 2022 for a premium of $10.41 after fees.
- Invesco Mortgage (IVR) sold a covered call at a strike price of $4.00 expiring May 7, 2021 for a premium of $4.71 after fees.
As you can see, it was a pretty busy week for options trading. The total premium received this week was $131.25. I rolled the covered call option on SCHD out to a future date at a higher strike price for a loss of -$1.37 but it still is in the money. At some point I will probably just let this ride. If my shares get called away I will just buy the shares back. I am still learning about options and developing a strategy.
Account Updates
The Traditional IRA finished the week at $114,192 which is up $111 over the previous week.
The 401k finished the week at $6,924 which is up $190 over the previous week. This total includes the regularly scheduled bi-weekly contribution.
The Roth IRA finished the week at $432 which is up $65 over the previous week. This total includes the regularly scheduled monthly contribution of $60.

The total amount invested across all of the accounts is $121,780. This is up $364 over the previous week.
Wrap Up
The combined income from dividends and options premium this week was $131.77. I keep plugging along trying to grow the accounts week over week, month over month and year over year. That’s it for this week. Thanks for following along on my journey to financial freedom!
