Dividends, Investing and Options Trading for Week Ending 12/3/21

This week was another down week for the markets. My accounts were down this week as well. Despite the markets being down, I continued to follow my plan. Dividends came in and were reinvested. The regularly scheduled contributions were made and used to dollar collar average into positions. Let’s check out the details for week!

Dividends

The following dividends were received in the Traditional IRA this week:

  • Kroger Co. (KR) – $21.02
  • Enbridge Inc. (ENB) – $48.62
  • Fidelity Government Money Market (SPAXX) – $0.04

All of these dividends were reinvested into the underlying positions.

The following dividends were received in the Roth IRA this week:

  • Nationwide Risk Managed Income ETF (NUSI) – $1.16
  • Amplify CWP Enhanced Dividend ETF (DIVO) – $0.25

Both of these dividends were reinvested into the underlying positions.

The total amount of dividends received this week was $71.09.

Buys/Sells

The following buys were made in the Traditional IRA this week:

  • Vanguard Total Stock Market Index ETF (VTI) – 0.217 shares

The following buys were made in the Roth IRA this week:

  • Vanguard Growth ETF (VUG) – 0.032 shares
  • Store Capital Corp. (STOR) – 0.458 shares
  • Schwab U.S. Dividend Equity ETF (SCHD) – 0.065 shares
  • Invesco NASDAQ Next Generation ETF (QQQJ) – 0.153 shares
  • Nationwide Risk Managed Income ETF (NUSI) – 0.723 shares
  • J.P. Morgan Equity Premium Income ETF (JEPI) – 0.331 shares
  • Huntington Bancshares Inc. (HBAN) – 1 share
  • Amplify CWP Enhanced Dividend ETF (DIVO) – 0.136 shares

The following buys were made in the 401k this week:

  • Vanguard Total Bond Market Index Fund – 0.9010 shares
  • Vanguard Total Stock Market Index Fund – 3.0901 shares
  • DFA Commodity Strategy Portfolio – 0.6565 shares
  • Vanguard Total International Stock Market Index Fund – 0.7902 shares

The following buys were made in the taxable brokerage account this week:

  • Vanguard Total Stock Market Index ETF (VTI) – 0.0521 shares
  • Invesco NASDAQ 100 ETF (QQQM) – 0.06608 shares
  • Invitae Corp. (NVTA) – 0.09331 shares

Options Trading

The following options trade were made in the Traditional IRA this week:

  • Hyliion Holdings (HYLN) – sold a covered call at a strike price of $7.50 expiring on December 17, 2021 for a premium of $21.32 after fees.
  • AT&T Inc. (T) – bought a closing transaction on a covered call at a strike price of $27.00 expiring on December 17, 2021 for a premium of -$1.02 after fees. This trade was held for about 23 days and produced a total profit of $9.40.
  • AT&T Inc. (T) – sold a covered call at strike price of $26.00 expiring on January 21, 2022 for a premium of $12.32 after fees.
  • Hyliion Holdings (HYLN) – bought a closing transaction on a covered called at a strike price of $7.50 expiring on December 17, 2021 for a premium of -$8.02 after fees. This trade was held for 4 days and produced a total profit of $13.30.
  • Hyliion Holdings (HYLN) – sold a covered call at a strike price of $7.50 expiring January 21, 2022 for a premium of $29.32 after fees.

The total amount of options premium received this week was $53.92.

Account Updates

The Traditional IRA finished the week at about $117,642. This is down -$998 from the previous week.

The Roth IRA finished the week at about $1,411. This is up $81 over the previous week but it includes the $100 biweekly contribution.

The 401k finished the week at about $9,810. This is up $24 over the previous but also includes the biweekly contribution.

The taxable brokerage account finished the week at about $347. This is even with the previous week but also includes the $25 monthly contribution.

The little bit of bitcoin that I have finished the week at about $21. This is down -$5 from the previous week.

The total amount invested is now about $129,231. This is down -$898 from the previous week. All of the positions in my portfolio can be seen by clicking on “Portfolios” in the menu or clicking here.

Wrap Up

This week I did receive a little bit of interest income, $5.21. The total amount of dividends, options premium and interest received this week was $130.22. Whether the markets go up or down, I will continue to execute my plan. These small drops in the market seem big now, but in 10 years I likely won’t remember these drops.
