Dividends, Investing and Options Trading for Week Ending 1/28/22

Advertisements

Both the S&P 500 and NASDAQ Composite had a roller coaster week, being mostly down until Friday when the S&P 500 rallied to finish 0.77% up for the week. The NASDAQ eked out a 0.01% gain for the week to barely finished in the green. My accounts had a mixed week. Some were up, some were down and some were relatively flat. Let’s check out the details of my week!

The Roth IRA finished the week at about $2,222. This is up $103 over the previous week. This includes a contribution of $100.

The 401k finished the week at about $10,551. This is up $235 over the the previous week. This includes a contribution of about $264 which means this account was actually down for the week.

The taxable brokerage account finished the week at about $320. This is down -$3 from the previous week.

The little bit of bitcoin that I own finished the week a little under $18. This is about even with the previous week.

The total amount invested is now about $134,305. This is up $1,860 over the previous week. All of the positions in my portfolio can be seen by clicking “Portfolios” in the menu or by clicking here.

Wrap Up

The total amount of dividends and options premium received this week was $360.34. This was another interesting week in the stock market. The Traditional IRA was up this week mainly due to some of my larger holdings (V, T, MSFT, VZ) rallying on Friday and closing up. V was up over 10% on Friday! I made an unscheduled $100 contribution to the Roth IRA this week. I figured I could take advantage of the markets being down and buy some quality companies at a cheaper price. Other than that, I stuck with my plan. I continue to consolidate my accounts as seen with the liquidation of DTE. I will continue to look at every position in my accounts to see if the position is a good fit with my goals. I am encouraged by my options trades lately. It is looking like options trading can be a good stream of income for me in retirement. That pretty much wraps it up for this week. Thanks for following along!

On a side note, I have added a Recommended Resources in the menu. It currently is a work in progress. It will contain blogs and YouTube channels that I enjoy as well as some sites that I use. I hope you take the time to check it out.
