Dividends, Investing and Options Trading for Week Ending 2/4/22

Advertisements

The stock market rebounded this week with the S&P 500 and NASDAQ both finishing in the green. This week was a busy week for me personally. Work was really busy this week which including having to work six days this week. We also had a snowstorm here this week which meant time spent shoveling the driveway. Since I was busy this week, the accounts were basically left on auto-pilot. Let’s check out how the accounts performed this week!

Dividends

The following dividends were received in the Traditional IRA this week:

All of the dividends received in the Traditional IRA this week were reinvested into the underlying positions.

The following dividends were received in the Roth IRA this week:

The total amount of dividends received this week was $230.20.

No sells were made this week.

Account Updates

The Traditional IRA finished the week at about $121,141. This is down -$53 from the previous week.

The Roth IRA finished the week at about $2,341. This is up $119 over the previous week. This does include the regular bi-weekly contribution of $100.

The 401k finished the week at about $10,647. This is up $96 over the previous week.

The taxable brokerage account finished the week at about $349. This is up $29 from the previous week. This does include the regular monthly contribution of $25.

The little bit of bitcoin that I own finished the week a little over $19. This is up about $1 since last week.

The total amount invested is now about $134,497. This is up $192 over the previous week. All of the positions in my portfolio can be seen by clicking on “Portfolios” in the menu or clicking here.

Wrap up

This week also saw a little bit of interest income, $7.05, in the bank accounts. The total amount of dividends, options premium and interest received this week was $237.25. Overall, the accounts were up a little bit this week though not as much as the stock market was. Having automatic contributions set up and dividend reinvestment turned on really helps the accounts run on auto pilot. The taxable brokerage account is with M1 Finance which has an auto invest feature which made the purchases in that account this week without any effort on my part. I still need to make some purchases in the Roth IRA because I did not get a chance on Friday when the automatic contribution hit. Options trading also took a hit this week because I was busy. I still spent some time monitoring my open options contracts but did not really see any opportunities to trade this week. Even if I wasn’t busy I might not have made any options trades this week. That about wraps it up for this week. Thanks for following along!

On a side note, I have added a Recommended Resources in the menu. It currently is a work in progress. It will contain blogs and YouTube channels that I enjoy as well as some sites that I use. I hope you take the time to check it out.
