Dividends, Investing and Options Trading Weekly Update 8/26/22

Advertisements

This past week was another down week in the stock market. The S&P 500 and NASDAQ were trading down a little bit during the week but really dropped on Friday after the Fed Chairman Jerome Powell spoke. As for me, it was a very busy week at work with a lot of overtime. A lot of people have been taking time off to get in vacations before their kids go back to school and the summer ends. This week was also a busy week of investing for me. Let’s check out my weekly update on dividends, investing and options trading.

Dividends

The following dividend was received the the Traditional IRA this week:

This dividend was reinvested back into the underlying position. The total amount of dividends received this week was $23.89.

Investing

In the Traditional IRA, the following buys were made this week:

The following buys were made in the Roth IRA this week:

The following buys were made in the taxable brokerage account this week:

Also in the taxable brokerage account I made the following sell this week:

Options Trading

The following options trades were made in the Traditional IRA this week:

Closed Positions
Opened Positions
Expired Positions

This week I received a total of $322.43 in options premium.

Account Updates

The Traditional IRA finished the week at about $114,558. As a result, the account value decreased by -$4,168 from the previous week.

The Roth IRA finished the week at about $4,762. As a result, the account value increased by $4 from the previous week. When the $175 contribution this week is factored in, the account is down for the week.

The 401k finished the week at about $13,501. As a result, the account value decreased by -$287 from the previous week.

The taxable brokerage account finished the week at about $411. As a result, the account value decreased by -$14 from the previous week.

The little bit of bitcoin that I own finished the week at about $13. As a result, this is down -$1 from the previous week.

This brings the total amount invested to about $133,245. Week over week, the total amount invested decreased by -$4,466. You can see all of the positions in my portfolio by clicking “Overall Portfolio” in the menu above.

Wrap Up

The combined income from dividends and options premium totaled $346.32 this week. Even though it was a busy week for me personally, I found time to invest in my future by buying some dividend stocks on sale. This week was also a good week for collecting options premium mainly due the put I sold on SMG. SMG has been on my watchlist for some time now and I believe it is very undervalued at this point. Because of this, I was comfortable selling an at the money cash secured put. That wraps it up for this week. Thanks for following along!
