Dividends and Options Trading Update May 2023

Advertisements

May has come to an end so it is time for another update. May is one of my lower months for dividends received. Options trading was a little better this month, no big home runs just a few singles. Let’s take a look at how much dividends and options premium I received for May.

For the month, I received a total of $306.63 in dividends. This is a decrease over May 2022 when I received $325.19 in dividends. The reasons for the year over year decrease are that my position in AT&T (T) is much smaller than last year and I exited my position in Hanes Brands (HBI).

Options premium received in May was better than April, totaling $374.26. Below is chart of all the options trades I made in made in May.

The total amount of income produce from my accounts for May was $716.38. This includes dividends, options premium and interest. All of this income was reinvested back into the accounts.

While the amount of income was up this month over last month, it is still not where I want it to be. I am looking forward to June which will be a big month for dividends. As always, I will continue to invest and reinvest the dividends and options premium. Following this plan will allow the income from my accounts to grow. One day it will be enough to cover my expenses and allow me to retire. Thanks for following along!
