The stock market continues to decline. The S&P 500 briefly fell to over 20% down for the year during intraday trading but rallied to finish just out of bear market territory. For the year, the S&P 500 is down over 18% while the NASDAQ is down over 28%. As a result, my accounts are down for week and the year as well. Let’s checking out my week of investing.

Account Updates

The Traditional IRA finished the week at about $113,961 invested. As a result, this account lost -$2,614 week over week.

The Roth IRA finished the week at about $2,998 invested. As a result, this account gained $49 week over week. A contribution of $100 was made to this account this week, so actually this account was down for the week.

The 401k finished the week at about $11,812 invested. As a result, this account gained $179 week over week. A contribution of $264 was made to this account this week, so actually this account was down for the week.

The taxable brokerage account finished the week at about $320 invested. As a result, this account lost -$11 week over week.

The little bit of bitcoin in my account finished the week a little above $16. As a result, this account finished the week flat.

This brings the total amount invested to about $129,107. As a result, the total amount invested decreased this week by -$2,397. You can see all of the positions in my portfolio by clicking “Portfolios” in the menu above.

Wrap Up

This week I received a total of $78.05 of income from dividends and options premium. I continue to ride out the downturn in the stock market. This week did not produce a lot of income. Even though it was a down week for income, that income was reinvested to create more income in the future. I continue to make my regular contributions to my accounts. As the stock market declines, I believe the best course of action is to stay invested and continue to dollar cost average into the markets. While it can be painful to see the account values drop, this downturn in the stock market will pass. That wraps it up for this week. Thanks for following along!
