Dividends, Investing and Options Trading for Week Ending 2/11/22

Advertisements

The S&P 500 and NASDAQ were trading relatively flat on Monday and Tuesday. On Wednesday and Thursday both were up. Then on Friday both dropped by a good bit to finish the week in the red. With high inflation, looming interest rate hikes, geopolitical tensions and other issues, I can see it be a rough year for the stock market. Despite the headwinds facing the market I will continue to follow my plan and dollar cost average into the market. Let’s see how my investing went this week.

Dividends

The following dividends were received in the Traditional IRA this week:

The dividend from TXN was reinvested into the underlying position. The dividend from EPD is pending reinvestment into the underlying position.

The following dividend was received in the taxable brokerage account this week:

This dividend was deposited into the core account to be reinvested in the future.

The total amount of dividends received this week was $59.40.

Buys/Sells

The following buys were made in the Roth IRA this week:

The following buys were made in the 401k this week:

No sells were made this week.

Options Trading

The following options trades were made in the Traditional IRA this week:

The total amount of options premium received this week was $252.04.

Account Updates

The Traditional IRA finished the week at about $121,325. This is up $184 from the previous week.

The Roth IRA finished the week at about $2,309. This is down -$32 from the previous week.

The 401k finished the week at about $10,832. This is up $185 from the previous week. When the automatic bi-weekly contribution of about $264 is factored in, the account is down for the week.

The taxable brokerage account finished the week at about $344. This is down $5 from the previous week.

The little bit of bitcoin that I own finished the week a little $20 which is up about $1 from the previous week.

The total amount invested is now about $134,830. This is up $333 from the previous week. All of the positions in my portfolio can be seen by clicking “Portfolios” in the menu or clicking here.

Wrap Up

The total amount of dividends and options premium received this week was $311.44. This week was a bit more active, especially on the options trading. Even in a down market, I am able to generate income from account. The market is going to do what it does. It will go up, it will go down. I have no control over what the market does. I can control what I do. I am sticking to my plan. So far, I have been able to increase the amount of income my account is producing by following my plan. As long as that continues, I will stick to my plan. That doesn’t mean that I won’t tweak my plan a little bit along the way. Being flexible and adjusting to changing conditions is also important. That wraps it up for this week. Thanks for following along!

On a side note, I have added a Recommended Resources in the menu. It currently is a work in progress. It will contain blogs and YouTube channels that I enjoy as well as some sites that I use. I hope you take the time to check it out.
