Dividends, Investing and Options Trading for Week Ending 4/29/22

Advertisements

This week was another down week in the stock market. Both the S&P 500 and NASDAQ rallied up a little bit on Thursday but then fell back down on Friday. Because of the drop on Friday, both the S&P 500 and the NASDAQ were down for the week. As a result, the S&P 500 is down almost -14% for the year and the NASDAQ is in bear market territory down -22% year to date. Despite the downturn in the stock market, I continue to invest. Let’s check out how my week went.

Dividends

This week I received the following dividends in the Traditional IRA:

All of the dividends received in the Traditional IRA this week were deposited into the core account to be reinvested at a future time.

For the week I received a total of $108.26 in dividends.

Expired positions
Calls

For the week, I received a total of $87.65 in options premium.

Account Updates

The Traditional IRA finished the week with about $116,576 invested. As a result, this account is down -$3,524 from the previous week.

The Roth IRA finished the week with about $2,908 invested. As a result, this account is down -$110 from the previous week.

The 401k finished the week with about $11,591 invested. As a result, this account is down -$227 from the previous week.

The taxable brokerage account finished the week with about $322 invested. As a result, this account is down -$13 from the previous week.

The little bit of bitcoin in my account finished the week with a little less than $22 invested. This relatively flat for the week.

This brings the total amount invested to about $131,419. As a result, the total amount invested dropped by -$3,874 this week. If you would like to see what I invest in, you can by clicking on “Portfolios” in the menu above.

Wrap Up

The total amount of dividends and options premium received this week was $195.91. This week I added to my WBD position which is now up to 88 shares. Just 12 more shares to reach 100 so I can sell covered calls. I also sold out of my position in IVR. I did not have a strong conviction in this position and felt the money could be better used in other positions. This week was also an active week in options trading. I am still learning and experimenting with options trading to find a strategy that works for me. That wraps it up for this week. Thanks for following along!

On a side note, I have added a Recommended Resources in the menu. This page currently is a work in progress that will contain blogs and YouTube channels that I enjoy as well as some sites that I use. I hope you take the time to check it out.
