The S&P 500 and the NASDAQ Composite rallied this week to finish in the green. Whether this rally in the stock market continues or the stock market drops back down remains to be seen. While the stock market rallied I did little in my accounts this week. My lack of activity was not really by design. It just so happened that on a green week I did not have any scheduled contributions and most of my cash had already been deployed in previous down weeks. Let’s check out the details of my weekly update on dividends, investing and options trading.
Dividends
This week I received the following dividends in the Traditional IRA:
- Lockheed Martin Corp. (LMT) – $31.20
This dividend was reinvested into the underlying position.
For the week, I received a total of $31.20 in dividends.

Opened Positions
- Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) – sold a covered call at a strike price of $16.50 with an expiration date of June 24, 2022. The premium received for this trade was $2.81 after fees.
- Camping World Holdings (CWH) – sold a covered call at a strike price of $27.50 with an expiration date of June 24, 2022. The premium received for this trade was $4.71 after fees.
Expired Positions
- Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) – a covered call at a strike price of $16.50 with an expiration date of June 24, 2022 expired out of the money. I held this trade for about 4 days resulting in a profit of $2.81.
- AT&T Inc. (T) – two covered call contracts at a strike price of $22.50 with an expiration date of June 24, 2022 expired out of the money. I held this trade for about 18 days a resulting in a profit of $5.62.
- General Motors Co. (GM) – a covered call at strike price of $37.50 with an expiration date of June 24, 2022 expired out of the money. I held this trade for about 11 days resulting in a profit of $11.36.
- Camping World Holdings (CWH) – a covered call at a strike price of $27.50 with an expiration date of June 24, 2022 expired out of the money. I held this trade for about 4 days resulting in a profit of $4.71.
This week I received a total of $7.52 in options premium.
Account Updates
The Traditional IRA finished the week at about $113,016. As a result, the account value increased by $5,523 over the previous week.
The Roth IRA finished the week at about $3,468. As a result, the account value increased by $206 over the previous week.
The 401k finished the week at about $12,108. As a result, the account value increased by $352 over the previous week.
The taxable brokerage account finished the week at about $359. As a result, the account value increased by $33 over the previous week.
The little bit of bitcoin in my portfolio finished the week at about $12. As a result, it is up $1 over the previous week.
This brings the total amount invested to about $128,963. Week over week, the total amount invested grew by $6,115. You can see all of companies and funds I invest in by clicking on “Overall Portfolio” in the menu above.
Wrap Up
For the week, I received a total of $38.72 of income from dividends and options premium. While this was a slow week for dividends, investing and options trading, next week will be a big week to finish out the month. Next week I will receive dividends from more than 10 companies/funds plus I should be able to sell some covered calls on the positions that expired this week. That wraps it up for this week.
