#Dividends, #Investing and #Options Trading for the Week Ending 6/5/21

I hope everyone had a good week. This week I earned a little bit income, did some investing and seen my account values grow. Let’s check the details of my investing this week.

Dividends

This week I received the following dividends in the Roth IRA:

  • Wells Fargo Co. (WFC) – $0.10
  • Nationwide Risk Managed Income ETF (NUSI) – $0.39
  • J.P. Morgan Equity Premium Income ETF (JEPI) – $0.34

The total dividends received in the Roth IRA this week was $0.83. All of these dividends were reinvested.

This week I received the following dividends in the Traditional IRA:

  • Visa Inc. (V) – $5.62
  • Kroger Co. (KR) – $7.33
  • Enbridge Inc. (ENB) – $43.33

The total dividends received in the Traditional IRA this week was $56.28. All of these dividends were reinvested. Combined I received $57.11 in dividends this week.

Buys/Sells

The following were the buys in the Roth IRA this week:

  • Vanguard Growth ETF (VUG) – 0.04 shares

There were no buys in the Traditional IRA. I did sell out of my position in the Vanguard FTSE All World Ex U.S. ETF (VEU).

An automatic bi-weekly contribution of $164 was made this week to the 401k. At the time of this writing the purchases made with this contribution are not reflected in the transaction history of this account.

In the taxable account, the following buys were made this week:

  • Facebook (FB) – $9.16
  • Alphabet (GOOG) – $14.46
  • Deere & Co. (DE) – $1.78
  • Sea Ltd. (SE) – $4.08
  • Chewy Inc. (CHWY) – $5.04

All of the buys in the taxable account are automatically executed. This account is with M1 Finance which allows me to set a percentage for each position. When funds come into the account it will automatically buy the underweight positions when auto invest is turned on. This is a fairly passive way to invest.

Options Trading

The following is the options trading activity in the Traditional IRA this week:

  • XL Fleet Corp. (XL) – sold a cash secured put at a strike price of $7 expiring on June 18, 2021 for a premium of $43.31 after fees.

This was the only options trading activity for the week so the total options premium received this week was $43.31.

Account Updates

The Traditional IRA finished the week at $116,183 which is up $882 over the previous week.

The 401k finished the week at $7,531 which is up $215 over the previous week. This includes the automatic bi-weekly contribution of $164.

The Roth IRA finished the week at $551 which is up $7 over the previous week.

The taxable account finished the week at about $257 which is up $20 over the previous week. This include the automatic funding of $25 per month which was deposited this week so the account is actually down from last week. This account is with M1 Finance. You can check out all of my positions here: https://m1.finance/8H9jBhCho_rg.

The total amount invested across all accounts is $124,522. This week the total amount invested grew by $1,124 over the previous week.

Wrap Up

The combined income received from dividends and options premium this week was $100.42. Admittedly, $100 is not that much money but it is money that required minimal effort to earn on my part. It was definitely easier to earn that money than working in a factory like I do for my job. The accounts were up by a good amount this week. Seeing the accounts grow week over week, month over month and year over year is very motivating. That wraps it for this week. Thanks for reading!
