This was looking like a promising week in the stock market. Both the S&P 500 and NASDAQ were going up in the beginning of the week but then tanked at the end of the week. As a result, the S&P 500 finished the week down 2.75% while the NASDAQ was down 3.83%. Because the markets tanked at the end of the week, my accounts did the same. Let’s check out how my week went.
Dividends
This week, I received the following dividends in the Roth IRA:
- Nationwide NASDAQ 100 Risk Managed Income ETF (NUSI) – $2.12 (reinvested into the underlying position)
For the week, I received a total of $2.12 in dividends.
Buys/Sells
This week, I made the following buys in the Traditional IRA:
- Vanguard Total Stock Market Index ETF (VTI) – 0.10 shares
This week, I made the following buys in the Roth IRA:
- Vanguard Growth ETF (VUG) – 0.037 shares
- Store Capital Corp. (STOR) – 0.332 shares
- Schwab U.S. Dividend Equity ETF (SCHD) – 0.063 shares
- Invesco NASDAQ Next Generation ETF (QQQJ) – 0.183 shares
- Omega Healthcare Investors Inc. (OHI) – 0.363 shares
- Nationwide NASDAQ Risk Managed Income ETF (NUSI) – 0.216 shares
- J.P. Morgan Equity Premium Income ETF (JEPI) – 0.243 shares
- Innovative Industrial Properties Inc. (IIPR) – 0.062 shares
- Huntington Bancshares Inc. (HBAN) – 0.707 shares
- Amplify CWP Enhanced Dividend ETF (DIVO) – 0.40 shares
- American Tower Corp. (AMT) – 0.037 shares

Options Trading
This week, I made the following options trades in the Traditional IRA:
- Tilray Brands Inc. (TLRY) – bought a closing transaction on a covered call at a strike price of $7.50 with an expiration date of April 22, 2022. The premium received for this trade totaled -$3.03 after fees. This trade was held for about 7 days and resulted in a profit of $13.28.
- Tilray Brands Inc. (TLRY) – sold a covered call at a strike price of $7.00 with an expiration date of April 29, 2022. The premium received for this trade totaled $10.41 after fees.
- Direxion Daily Semiconductor Bull 3X Shares ETF (SOXL) – bought a closing transaction on a covered call at strike price of $35.00 with an expiration date of April 22, 2022. The premium received for this trade totaled -$4.03 after fees. This trade was held for about 7 days and resulted in a profit of $27.28.
- Direxion Daily Semiconductor Bull 3X Shares ETF (SOXL) – sold a covered call at a strike price of $34.50 with an expiration date of April 29, 2022. The premium received for this trade totaled $23.31 after fees.
- Hyliion Holdings (HYLN) – sold two covered calls at a strike price of $4.00 with an expiration date of April 29, 2022. The premium received for this trade totaled $9.43 after fees.
- HanesBrands Inc. (HBI) – sold a covered call at a strike price of $15.00 with expiration date of April 29, 2022. The premium received for this trade totaled $5.66 after fess.
For the week, I received a total of $41.75 in options premium.
Account Updates
The Traditional IRA now has about $120,100 invested. As a result, this account is down -$2,368 from the previous week.
The Roth IRA now has about $3,018 invested. As a result, this account is up $40 from the previous week. Despite the account value being up over the previous week, the account was actually down for the week when bi-weekly $100 contribution is factored in.
The 401k now has about $11,818 invested. The website for my 401k is down this weekend for maintenance. Therefore, I was not able to update this account this week.
The taxable brokerage account now has about $335 invested. As a result, this account is down -$29 from the previous week.
The little bit of bitcoin in my portfolio is now at about $22. As a result, this account is down -$1 from the previous week.
This brings the total amount invested to about $135,293. As a result, the total amount invested dropped by -$2,358 this week. Click “Portfolios” in the menu above to see all the positions in my portfolio.
Wrap Up
The total amount of dividends and options premium received this week was $43.87. Not only was this week a down week for capital appreciation it was a down week for income as well. While this week was a down week, I am looking forward to next week which will bring in more income to finish the month strong. That wraps it up for this week. Thanks for following along!
