Dividends, Investing and Options Trading for Week Ending 5/6/22

This vacation was much needed I enjoyed the time to relax and unwind. I also made some changes in my accounts this week. I removed many of the speculative positions in the Traditional IRA this week. Most of these positions were entered into as options trades. These trades were entered into mainly because I was chasing options premium. The Roth IRA finished the week with about $2,980 invested. As a result, this account is up $72 from the previous week. When the $100 contribution made this week is factored in, the account is down for the week.

The 401k finished the week with about $11,778 invested. As a result, this account is up $187 from the previous. When the $264 contribution made this week is factored in, the account was down for the week.

The taxable brokerage account finished the week at about $338. As a result, this account is up $16 from the previous week. When the $25 contribution made this week is factored in, the account was down for the week.

The little bit of bitcoin in my account finished the week with just over $19 invested. As a result, this account is down about $3 from the previous week.

This brings the total amount invested to about $132,966. As a result, the total amount invested increased by $1,547 this week. You can see all the positions I am invested in by clicking “Portfolios” in the menu above.

Wrap Up

This week also seen some income from interest in the amount of $9.62. This results in a total amount of income this week of $208.91 from dividends, options premium and interest. As you can see above, I made some significant changes this week, mainly in my options trading strategy. I exited several speculative positions and entered into positions that I am more comfortable holding. While this more conservative approach will likely result in less options premium, it is an approach I am more comfortable with. I am still in the learning phase in investing and options trading and continue to refine my approach. That wraps it up for this week. Thanks for following along!

  1. Hi Bill! Hi everyone! I think I did’nt see up here European stocks. I would extend my portfolio with some of them. And about dividents, would you please write also yield in %? Thank you again for sharing this.

    1. Hi Teodor! I do have positions in a couple of European stocks such as British American Tobacco and ASML. I should do some more research on European stocks. I know there are many great companies such as Unilever and Nestle. I will look at adding the dividend yield in the future. Thanks for following along!
