The year has come to an end so it is time to review my finances for the year. Overall it was a very good year for me. Let’s check out some of the financial accomplishments and goals I achieved this past year.
My biggest financial accomplishment for the year was maxing out the contribution to my Roth IRA. This was the first year that I maxed out my Roth IRA contribution. Hopefully, I can make this an annual tradition.
My goal for dividends in 2023 was $5,000 of dividends received. I exceeded this goal by wide margin finishing the year with $5,372.71 dividends received. This is a 29% increase over 2022.
My accounts pulled in $10,167.64 of income this past year. My goal was $10,000 of income from my accounts. This includes income from dividends, options, interest, and my website.
Overall it was a very good year. I accomplished the goals I had set for myself. I am really proud of myself for being able to max out my Roth IRA contribution. I still need to work on trading options. I feel this is an area where I have a lot of room for improvement. My accounts continued to grow finishing the year at $163,794.51 invested. I made significant progress this year to reach my goal of retiring at 59 1/2 and look to build on that in 2024.
